EVERGLADES

The vision for this historic house and garden was conceived by Belgian born Henri Van de Velde (1878-1947) who purchased Everglades in 1933.

Van de Velde employed Danish landscape designer Paul Sorensen who helped produce one of Australia’s most significant gardens.

In 1962 the Swain family generously assisted the National Trust to purchase Everglades.

This monument was donated by the James N Kirby Foundation.
