Kardinia is a Federation Queen Anne house built around 1908 - 1910
- Designed by Sydney Architect A.F Pritchard for Businessman John Joseph Rouse.
- It sits on land that was part of the 15 Acre Grant Governor Brisbane gave his Astronomer James Dunlop in the 1830's
- Dunlop sold it in 1841 to Thomas Ware Smart, who built the house called Mona there, which still stands at 38 Mona Road.
- The Mona Estate was subdivided in 1904, & Kardinia went up on Lots 44 & 45. It was converted into 2 Flats around 1950, then restored back as a single home.
- It's Been a Troiphy Property in thr 21st Century - The Georges Bought in for $6.5 Million in 2013 & soild it Off Market in 2025 for around $23 Million.
- Kardinia is an Aboriginal word meaning Sunrise, which fits a house facing East Over the Harbour
